Urban RV Camping in Iowa

Iowa weather can change rapidly, so think about bringing a weather radio along that will sound an alert if dangerous weather approaches. In addition to bringing a weather radio, be sure to pack clothes that will layer well because Iowa can see wide swings in temperatures throughout the day. Summers can be in the 90s during the day, and winters offer plenty of snow.

Consider preparing your meals on a propane stove rather than a grill if you do not have cooking facilities in your camper. This helps to cut down on campground smoke odor and helps to make meal preparation faster. Be ready with mosquito repellent as well; evenings in the spring through fall can come with plenty of mosquitoes, especially if you’re near water.
