When you visit LA in your rental RV, you’ll easily be able to find plenty of exciting destinations to explore. We’ve provided this Los Angeles itinerary to help make planning easier.

Preparing for Your Los Angeles RV Trip

Selecting the right RV to rent in Los Angeles is an important part of planning your ideal trip. If you want to rent one with lots of space, you’ll probably be interested in a Class A motorhome, but if your priority is easier city driving, you may want to choose a Class B campervan. Day 1: Arts Galore

Morning: Hollywood Walk

Visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the morning to beat the crowds and have a much easier time snapping photos of the stars. The cooler weather and softer light are perfect for enjoying a relaxed stroll and taking in the celebrity names. It’s a great way to start your day in Hollywood!

Lunch: Tasty Italian

After strolling the Walk of Fame, head to Beverly Hills for lunch at Il Pastaio. This Italian restaurant has served high-quality food for nearly 30 years, so whatever soup, salad, or pasta dish you choose will be delicious.

Afternoon: Getty Up

After lunch, head 6 miles west of Il Pastaio to visit The Getty, which is one of LA’s premier art museums. This top-rated museum has everything from art from the Middle Ages to the latest modern art. The top of the building is a fabulous place to take in the local scenery. The best part is that entry is free! But you do have to reserve a timed spot ahead of time.

Setting up Camp

When you’re ready to head to your campsite near Los Angeles, check in with the host or office and proceed to your campsite. Next, set up your camper and complete any necessary hookups. Alternatively, you can rent an RV with the option of delivery, and the owner will set up your rig for you.

Dinner: Fine Art and Fine Dining

For delicious Mexican cuisine, stop by El Rancherito to get your fill of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and more. Consider getting takeout to enjoy at your campground.

Day 2: Griffith Park and Beyond

Morning: Hollywood Hike

Start your second day of exploration by hiking up to the Hollywood Sign. Two easy trails and one hard trail wind through several miles of the Hollywood Hills and take you close to this world-famous structure.

Lunch: Classy Cafe

Just outside of Griffith Park is the Beachwood Cafe. This farm-to-table restaurant has salads, wings, pizzas, Mexican food, sandwiches, and more.

Afternoon: Exotic Wildlife

The Los Angeles Zoo is one of Griffith Park’s most popular attractions. The zoo is home to over 1,700 animals from more than 270 species. Check out exhibits like the Campo Gorilla Reserve and Elephants of Asia.

Evening: Hollywood Stars

After you’ve explored the LA Zoo, visit the Griffith Observatory, which has free public telescopes that visitors can use to observe the heavens. The roof of Griffith Observatory provides stellar views of the Hollywood Sign during the daytime.

Day 3 and Beyond in Los Angeles

With so many places to visit, you’ll easily find things to do if you can spend more than two days in Los Angeles. Here are some top attractions to see:

Universal Studios Hollywood is a cinema-themed amusement park that contains popular sections like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Studio Tour, and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD. Exciting attractions await, like Flight of the Hippogriff, Jurassic World – The Ride, and Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
Disneyland has long been known as the “Happiest Place on Earth.” At this Disney park, you can experience classic rides like the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Summer Activities:

No visit to Los Angeles is complete without a trip to the beach—especially during the summer. Dockweiler Beach is a popular beach featuring more than 3.5 miles of shoreline and nearly 300 acres of beach.

Another great beach to explore is Venice Beach, which is just 5 miles north of Dockweiler Beach. Be sure to check out the Venice Beach Boardwalk and nearby Venice Canals.

Indoor Activities

The TCL Chinese Theatre is the world’s most iconic movie palace. The outside of the theater is known for the footprints and handprints of celebrities on its sidewalk; the inside is known for its high-grade IMAX theaters.

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is home to more than 35 million artifacts. You can take a Dinosaur Hall tour at this LA museum, explore the nature gardens, and check out the Mineral Hall.
