The Savanh South KOA is in Richmond Hill, which is a small town on the southwestern edge of Savanh. This campground is only a few blocks away from Interstate 95, and when the traffic is light, you can be in downtown Savanh in less than a half-hour. In downtown Savanh, you can enjoy one of the many walking tours offered in the city and see the many sites, including places where notable movies like “Forrest Gump” and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” were filmed.
Because this site is operated by the KOA, it is one of the premier places to go RV camping in Savanh-Hinesville. It is loaded with amenities and things to do. It has a lake where you and the family can launch nonmotorized boats or do some fishing. The site has even contracted with a couple of area tours to take guests to see various sites in the area.

For a fun time in a great location, stay at this campground near the Georgia/Florida border. The quiet town of Homeland is near several attractions and very accommodating to guests. In addition, inhabitants of the campground will have the opportunity to venture out and explore excellent places nearby, like the Okefenokee Wildlife refuge to the west or Jacksonville just an hour to the south.

Biltmore Gardens RV Park is one of the oldest campgrounds of its kind and has a history dating back to 1958. Skidaway Island State Park is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise that’s equidistant to Savannah and the Atlantic beaches in Georgia. Several rivers snake their way around the campground, making it an ideal place for swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boating. Skidaway River feeds into both the Vernon River and Wilmington River, both of which lead directly to the Atlantic Ocean.

Sitting on the shores of the Ogeechee River, Savannah Oaks RV Resort, which was formerly known as Bellaire Woods Campgrounds, is an ideal location for water lovers. The Morgan Bridge Boat Ramp is only a couple of blocks away and so is the Ogeechee Outpost where you can rent canoes and kayaks. Just down the road in Pooler, you’ll find Fun Zone Amusement and Sports Park, which features a toddler playground, go-karts, miniature golf, arcade games and tasty snacks for the entire family.
When you feel like staying close to your home away from home, you can hang out by the pool, get a workout in at the exercise room or get some exercise with your canine companions at the dog park, which is located next to the playground. Many of the sites are located under tall, shady trees, and fire pits are available for making s’mores.

Located on beautiful and historic Tybee Island, River’s End Campground and RV Park is one of the few RV parks that are east of Savannah. Located on the tip of Tybee Island, the park offers views of Calibogue Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Tybee Island was one of the major defensive points held by the Confederacy during the Civil War, and the area is well-represented by historic sites, like Battery Habersham, Fort Screven, the Tybee Island Light Station and Museum and the Fort Pulaski National Monument.

Located in Rincon, Georgia, Whispering Pines RV Park is a few miles north of Savannah close to the South Carolina border. In addition to being only a few miles away from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, it is also close to the 29,000-acre Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, which features hiking and biking trails. Hinesville offers a small-town feel in a rural setting that is still close to the state’s Atlantic beaches.
