The location is intimate; it only has 38 RV sites, which means you’ll have a small group of neighbors. You’ll also find that the campground has Wi-Fi, cable and good cell coverage.
Not only does this campground have a ton of things to do, but if you enjoy hunting, the site is close to the state game lands to hunt for deer and smaller game during the hunting season. The campground also has a pool if you need to cool off and go for a swim. If you want a more natural experience in the water, this campground is located close to the shores of the Raystown Lake, which means that you can even enjoy a little fishing.

One aspect of Greene Hills Family Campground and RV Park that visitors enjoy is the family-friendly environment. The park is run by the United Methodist Church, so it’s easy to understand that the campground is very peaceful, even during the nighttime. If you have kids, you’ll have difficulty finding time to fit in all of the activities and amenities.
This campground is open from March through December, and during that time, there are a lot of activities and events to attend. During the warm summer months, swimming is available, and there are more than a few activities to be enjoyed on the nearby Susquehanna River. During the cooler months, there’s a sizable pavilion to use if you plan a group activity such as a family reunion, and there are hiking opportunities in the area to enjoy the outdoors.

Another campground that is near Raystown Lake, Heritage Cove Resort is a beautiful lakeside campground that is operated by a friendly and accommodating staff. The location even features RV storage, which can be convenient for many RVers. Heritage Cove has 195 sites for RVs and has a great pet policy.
The owners of this campground are considered very nice by guests, and the campsites are known for their spaciousness. You’ll have no problem parking larger Class A motorhomes or toy haulers in the provided spaces, and there are several spaces that are very close to the pools. This Altoona RV park’s rates are also very reasonable considering the amenities you’ll have access to.

Wright’s Orchard Station is perfect for the camper who doesn’t need or want a lot of unnecessary amenities. The trade-off is lower nightly rates and a quiet RV park near State College. Located in Duncansville, which is adjacent to Altoona, it’s a short drive to the Penn State campus.
While this campground is about 45 miles southwest of State College, the region has none of the traffic or noise associated with Penn State.
