1. Homemade Tank Cleaner

Mix a cup of dish soap and ½ cup of Calgon water softener to create an effective, cheap waste tank cleaner.

2. Repair Wood Veneer

If the wood veneer in your RV has loosened over time, all you need to repair it is some wood glue and a syringe. Squirt the wood glue into the damaged area using the syringe, then wait for it to dry.

3. Keep Addresses and Contact Phone Numbers Within Sight

Get a dry-erase board and stick it somewhere convenient. Write down the name, site number, phone number, and address of any campground when you arrive. In case of an emergency, having this information available for paramedics or emergency personnel will help them get to you faster.

You can also write convenient information like the WiFi password on the dry erase board as well.

4. Hang String Lights Off Your Awning Using Badge Holder Clips

Badge holder clips also make great light holder clips. You can order a bunch of them on Amazon, then pop them up and clip in your lights in no time once you’ve set up camp.

5. Use Square Containers

Get organized with square containers to store items in your RV, especially in the pantry and fridge. Square containers stack better than round ones that don’t make use of every inch of space.

6. Hold Black Out Curtains in Place With Velcro

Add a small square of Velcro to the backs of your curtains, and to the spot on your wall where you want the curtains to stay in place. This keeps the curtains from falling open and letting the sunshine in! These Velcro tabs have an adhesive backing, so you can simply peel and stick them where you want.

7. Prevent Heat Loss by Adding a Vent Cushion to Your Ceiling Vent

Vent cushions can keep heat in during cold weather, and cool air in during hot weather. There are numerous vent cushion choices available on Amazon, at Walmart, and at other places where you can find RV products.

8. Pine-Sol Fly Repellent

Keep flies and bugs at bay! Make a solution of four parts Pine-Sol to one part water and spray it to repel flies, bugs, and wasps.

9. Update Your RV Floor With Stick on Vinyl Flooring

If your RV has old, outdated, or damaged flooring, cover the old floor with peel and stick vinyl floor planks. They’re easy to install, and even easy to cut with a utility knife. This is a simple project that can be done in less than a day.

10. Use Shoe Organizers For More Than Shoe Storage

Shoe organizers can be used to organize shower supplies or various other items around an RV. They can even be cut up and used as shorter organizers hanging off an RV bunk.

11. Hold Items in Place With Non-Slip Liners in Your Drawers and Shelves

Non-slip liners work great in RVs (and earthquake zones!) to keep dishes from sliding around while you’re on the move. Line shelves and drawers with non-slip liner that can be cut to fit each surface. You can also cut out a small piece to put in between dishes so they don’t slide when they’re stacked on top of each other.

12. Improve Safety at Night with Glow-in-The-Dark Tape

Make it easier to see going in and out of your RV at night by lining the steps with glow-in-the-dark tape.

13. Protect Your Head With A Pool Noodle

Cut a slit lengthwise down one side of a pool noodle and slip it over your awning rail. It will help prevent painful head bumps if someone happens to walk too close to the awning.

14. Dry Laundry on a Tension Rod

If you need to do laundry on the road, hang a tension rod in the shower. You can dry clothes while you’re on the move.

15. Prevent Wasps Near Your Propane

Wasps like the smell of propane and tend to congregate near tanks. You can cut up a flea collar in half and leave one half under your propane tank to repel them. When your RV is in storage, be sure you turn the propane off entirely to avoid attracting more wasps.

16. Use Drink Koozies to Prevent Broken Glass

Pop insulated koozies on your drinking glasses to protect them. The koozies can cushion the glasses from breaking while your RV is in motion.

17. Shower Caddies for Kids Items

Use shower caddies with suction cups to hold and organize activities for the kids while on road trips.

Hopefully, these 17 genius RV hacks are helpful on your next outing!
