In fact, the top 5 hiking trails in Miami all have beautiful views of waterways, bays, lagoons, and other Miami scenery. From trails through local parks to paths through downtown Miami, there are a variety of trails to hike in Miami!

Commodore Trail via Myres Bayside Park

The Commodore Trail via Myers Bayside Park is a less-traveled trail so you may not see many people on your walk. It’s well-suited for running, walking, and cycling, and there are benches and picnic tables along the way. The trail begins at Dinner Key and heads southwest to Coral Gables.

Mileage: 4.4 miles

In and Out Trail

Terrain: This trail is paved asphalt or concrete so it’s manageable for strollers and wheelchairs. There is very little elevation gain, and it’s between 3-5 feet wide.

Difficulty: This is an easy trail that can be hiked by kids.

Pet-friendly? Yes, dogs are allowed on this trail, but must be leashed. Be sure to bring bags and pick up after your pet!

Kid-friendly? Yes, this trail is easy to walk with kids. There are lots of spots for them to gaze at or splash in the water and to get their wiggles out.

Chapman Field Park Trail

The Chapman Field Park Trail is a great spot for birdwatching, fishing, and hiking. It’s a less-popular trail and you may not see other hikers along the way. The trail begins near the kayak and canoe launch and wanders through mangrove forests, lagoons, and lakes. It ends with a view of Biscayne Bay.

Mileage: 1.0 miles

In and Out Trail

Terrain: This path begins as concrete near the kayak launch area, then turns to gravel and stone, and finally into mud as you near Biscayne Bay at the end.

Difficulty: This is an easy trail with no elevation gain and short mileage. Most kids can likely hike the entire trail on their own.

Pet friendly? Yes, dogs are allowed on this trail, and are allowed off-leash in some areas.

Kid-friendly? This is a kid-friendly trail with views of Biscayne Bay at the end. There is also a canoe and kayak launch at Chapman Field Park for even more outdoor adventuring.

Aventura Circle

The Aventura Circle Trail is around the perimeter of the Turnberry Golf Course. It’s a good trail for birdwatching, cycling, and running. It’s also not a popular trail, so you may have the path to yourself.

Mileage: 3.1 miles

Loop Trail

Terrain: This trail is paved asphalt and paved concrete. It’s smooth and easily managed by strollers and wheelchairs.

Difficulty: This is an easy trail and can be hiked by kids. There is very little elevation gain and the trail is smooth.

Pet friendly? Yes, dogs are allowed on this trail, but must be leashed. Be sure to bring bags and pick up after your pet!

Kid-friendly? Yes, this trail is kid-friendly! It’s flat and smooth and lends itself to leisurely strolling.

Regatta Park Loop

The Regatta Park Loop is a lovely walking trail. It’s not a popular trail, and you may not see other people while you’re on it. You’ll get great views of the marina, and there are picnic tables along the way.

Loop Trail

Terrain: The trail is paved and accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.

Difficulty: This is considered an easy trail. It’s a one-mile loop with almost no elevation gain.

Pet friendly? Yes, dogs are allowed on this trail, but must be on a leash.

Kid-friendly? This is a kid-friendly trail that wanders around Regatta Park and Miami City Hall. You’ll see nice views of the marina, and kids can watch the boats come in and out.

Flu Biscayne Bay Arch Creek East

The Flu Biscayne Bay Arch Creek East Trail is a popular trail for cyclists, runners, and walkers. It follows the water for quite a bit of the trail, and you’ll get beautiful views of the bay and creek.

Mileage: 3.1 miles

Loop Trail

Terrain: This trail is paved asphalt and concrete. It’s manageable for strollers and wheelchairs.

Difficulty: This is considered an easy trail, with very little elevation gain.

Pet friendly? Yes, dogs are allowed on this trail, but must be leashed. Be sure to bring bags and pick up after your pet!

Kid-friendly? This is a kid-friendly trail. They’ll get views of the bay, and can watch boats sail by. Arch Creek Park also has a museum with Native American and pioneer artifacts, and a bird and wild animal sanctuary that kids can explore.

These trails provide lovely views of the bays, rivers, lagoons, and other scenery in Miami. Most of them are popular with runners, walkers, and cyclists in the city.

RV Camping in Miami

RV camping is a great way to see Miami and enjoy the water and nearby hiking trails! There are several RV campgrounds in Miami, and Everglades National Park is about 90 minutes away. You’ll be near plenty of hiking trails, and most campgrounds have great views of the water as well.

RV Rentals in Miami

There are lots of RVshare RV rentals in Miami, so you can choose one that fits your group and the activities you want to do. If you’re traveling solo or as a couple, a Class B campervan may be all you need. If you want to bring kayaks, paddleboards, or other large items, a toy hauler trailer might be a better choice. A Class C camper is a great choice for a family heading on an RV trip together.

Other Things To Do in Miami

There are lots of other things to do near Miami. Biscayne National Park is about an hour and 40 minutes away, and much of the park is either underwater or accessible by boat.
