For the most part Oklahoma is a very easy state to drive through. The terrain is almost completely flat and the interstates are pretty straightforward. There also isn’t a lot of traffic in most of the state, and you will likely only come across traffic jams in Oklahoma City and Tulsa during rush hour.
Keep in mind that Oklahoma summers are brutal and spring is tornado season. For this reason, we highly recommend planning your Oklahoma urban camping trip for the fall if at all possible.
