Susan Creek Falls Trail
The Susan Creek Falls Trails begins at the parking lot opposite Highway 138 and extends 1.5 miles below Susan Creek Campground. On about 0.5 miles of this trail is the Emerald Trail, situated on a forested riverbank. The trail stretches for an extra mile and ends at the pedestrian Tioga Bridge, allowing visitors to cross the great North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River. A hike on this trail is a perfect way to appreciate the natural beauty of the North Umpqua Forest and its relaxed environment.

North Umpqua Trail
The North Umpqua Trail is a 79-mile-long trail running next to the North Umpqua River. The path is divided into seven parts through the WSR corridor. The main segments in the BLM are Tioga and Swiftwater, which are 3.7 and 9.8 miles, respectively. The Tioga part starts at the Tioga pedestrian bridge constructed by BLM in 2012. These segments are commonly used for mountain biking and have restrooms, parking, and interpretive panels.

Fishing and Boating
The are many access routes to fishing sites in Susan Creek Campground along Highway 138. However, the law prohibits fishing from any watercraft and only allows fly fishing on the WSR. The most popular fish species you can catch in this campground are the winter and summer steelhead, spring and fall chinook, cutthroat trout, and coho sea-run. Kayaks and rafts are the common boating types, and drift boats are not allowed.
Climbing
With its pretty canyons, monumental rock faces, and steep limestone cliffs, rock and mountain climbing are popular in the Umpqua basin. The main rock is the Acker Rock, which has 20 common routes with a 5.5 difficulty level. Also, the Old Woman and Old Man pinnacles, with a height of 280 feet each, are other frequently climbed sites. All climbing sites have one or more developed routes. However, you should carry at least two 60-meter ropes when climbing any route.
Wildlife Viewing
Wildlife viewing is a popular recreation activity in the Susan Creek Campground. In most chances, you'll spot the resident marvel and blacktail deer. Also, cougars deer are other common animals in this creek, and it's essential not to approach them and to keep a safe distance.
Picnicking
Diamond Lake is the prominent picnic spot in this creek. It has fire pits, a lighted pavilion, a volleyball court, picnic tables, and a playground. This spot also allows you to go boating in the lake and charges $5 for its facilities.
Waterfall Visits
The Totekee Falls is the most famous waterfall in Susan Creek Campground. It allows you to enjoy the roaring spray and mist as they pour into the canyons beside your RV. Other famous waterfalls are Misty Grotto, Surprise, and the 293-Feet Falls.
