Keyhole State Park sits on 15,890 acres along the Keyhole Reservoir. For fishing enthusiasts, this is great news because the Keyhole is known to be one of the best locations to find the largest fish in the state of Wyoming. Besides magnificent views of the lake, visitors to the park can engage in other nature-friendly activities such as hiking the trails, bird watching and water skiing. The closest cities to the park include Hulett, a small town with a population of only 419 people, and Rozet, which is approximately 24 miles away.

Species such as white pelicans and Savannah sparrows make this their home during the colder months, and bird watching is one of the most popular activities for visitors. Other leisurely activities at the park include swimming, hiking, fishing, water skiing, picnicking and camping deep in the Wyoming Black Hills.

To get to Keyhole State Park, take exit 165 off of I-90. Travel north for 6 miles, and the entrance to the park will be on your left-hand side.

Frequently Asked Questions About Keyhole State Park
Keyhole State Park has a relatively cold climate. Although the summers can be as hot as 88 F, the winters can sometimes see temperatures below 10 F. There is also regular snowfall from November through May.
If you prefer warm weather, your best bet is to visit Keyhole State Park between June and August. These are the only months when it's regularly warm and sunny for activities like hiking, swimming, and fishing.
Pets are welcome at Keyhole State Park and in the park's campgrounds. You must keep your pets on leashes of six feet or less and controlled at all times. Please remember to clean up after your pets.
Keyhole State Park is home to 10 different campgrounds with a total of 163 single-family campsites. While many sites permit RV camping, only 33 are designated RV sites with water and electrical hookups.
The park is a wonderful bird-watching destination, featuring white pelicans, Savannah sparrows, and over 225 other avian species. During your visit, you might also spot wild turkeys and white-tailed deer.
