Greenwood Furnace State Park is a public recreation area located in Jackson Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. The state park's name refers to the Greenwood Iron Works, a historic iron-making center on the premises that includes not only the furnaces but also a whole iron village community. Greenwood Lake is another major feature of the recreational area, and the dam that supports the lake has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Established in 1924, the park has a total land area of 423 acres and an elevation of 1,020 feet. Baltimore, Maryland, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, are two major U.S. cities located conveniently near Greenwood Furnace State Park. If you are coming from Baltimore, start by getting onto I-83 N from E Lexington St. After continuing on I-83 N, take US-22 W to PA-655 S in Reedsville, and then take the PA-655 exit from US-322 W. After continuing on PA-655 S, drive to PA-305 W/Greenwood Rd in Huntingdon County to arrive at the destination.
If you are coming from Pittsburgh, start by getting onto I-579 S. Get on I-376 E from Boulevard of the Allies, then take US-22 E to PA-305 E/Bridge St in Porter Township. Drive to PA-305 E to arrive at the destination.
