Oregon's Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park is just south of the city of Florence, Oregon. It wraps around the lush coast of Cleawox Lake, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the stunning beaches and calm waters. Many stop by to explore the magnificent sand dunes and practice sandboarding. Campers can even ride their ATVs out on the dunes from October through April. This park is home to the second-largest state park campground in Oregon as well as two freshwater lakes teeming with fish. In addition to endless outdoor recreational opportunities, you can also see all the interpretive displays at the beautiful historic Honeyman Lodge.

RV Resorts & Campsites in Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park
The campground at Honeyman is open to campers all year long. There are 47 full-hookup sites and 121 sites with electricity and water hookups. Additional amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, and firewood for sale. Several of the yurts and camping areas are pet-friendly. There's also an RV dump station and camping supplies available at the Honeyman Lodge. While there is Wi-Fi, be aware that the strength of your connection can vary widely depending on where you're staying within the park.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the chance to fish, swim, boat, and explore the natural beauty of Oregon's landscape. The two main day-use areas offer picnic tables with astounding views of the water. You could also snag a kayak, paddleboard, or pedal boat rental for endless fun during the warm season.
Whether you love the water or want to explore Oregon's outdoors on land, Honeyman has an adventure waiting for you.
Fishing
The Sand Dune Day-Use Area has a large fishing pier on Cleawox Lake where you can fish for largemouth bass, cutthroat trout, and rainbow trout. You'll also have no trouble finding fishing spots along the shore in the Cleawox Lake Day-Use Area. Angling on Woahink Lake, you may catch yellow perch, coastal cutthroat, and smallmouth bass.
Geocaching
A popular traditional cache in Honeyman resides in the campground's F loop behind a sturdy log. There's another one not far from one of the trails.
Flora and Fauna
While venturing out onto the park's main trail or dunes, you may spot shrews, raccoons, muskrats, mice, or marmots. Closer to the water, beavers, salamanders, frogs, and various shorebirds make their homes. Birders won't want to miss the chance to witness the visiting swans, geese, ducks, loons, and herons. In spring, pink rhododendrons flourish in the park, and in the fall, you can pick huckleberries and blackberries.
Hiking
The park has several short trail sections that can be combined to create one longer excursion. Starting at the Sand Dunes Trailhead, you'll walk about a mile around Cleawox Lake. For more experienced hikers, you're welcome to continue toward the 3.3-mile Woahink Lakeside Trail or the Dunes Loop, which adds another 2.3 miles.
Boating
On Cleawox Lake, small boating with no wakes is permitted. You can also paddle and kayak here. Woahink Lake boasts a free, paved boat launch open to the public.
Swimming
The Sand Dune Day-use Area on the south shore of Cleawox Lake has a fun sandy beach open to swimming. The waters are shallow and family-friendly. Be aware that there is no lifeguard on duty even during the summer. There's another roped-off swimming area on the east side of Highway 101 in Woahink Lake.
Biking
Bikers and ATV riders are encouraged to ride along the rugged dunes. Campers staying in the H loop between October and April can even ride their vehicles or bikes out on the dunes directly from their campsites.
How to Get to
Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park
From Florence, travel south on Highway 101 for a little over three miles to find the park, which will be on both sides of the highway. If you're starting in Reedsport, you'll have to drive north for almost 20 miles.
Entering Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park
The day-use areas have individual parking lots and self-service kiosks where you can purchase a daily pass. Those camping at the park don't need to buy one of these passes but should instead have their receipt on their dashboard. These parking spots can accommodate standard vehicles and haulers carrying any watercraft or ATVs.
The Honeyman Lodge is open during normal business hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The operational hours for the Woahink Picnic Shelter, Cleawox Ballfield Picnic Shelter, and day-use areas can fluctuate depending on the month.

If you are interested in swimming, it's best to take advantage of the warm weather in the summer. Spring is also a popular time for visitors due to the stunning pink rhododendron blooms.
You may see white-tailed deer, raccoons, opossums, and eastern cottontails. Some of the most common birds include American robins, red-winged blackbirds, ravens, Canada geese, and starlings.
Of the more than 350 campsites, about 168 of them are designed for RV use. Approximately 47 of the sites have full hookups while the other 121 spots have water and electricity.
Reservations are required for all campsites. You can make a reservation up to six months in advance, but they're also accepted on the same day of your stay. All reservations include an $8 fee regardless if you call or go through the online portal.
You're free to bring along your furry companion, however, they must be on a leash, and you are expected to pick up after them.
