- Dixville Notch State Park
Dixville Notch State Park is a popular public recreation area in the northern region of New Hampshire. You'll find this 127-acre retreat in Dixville Township where New Hampshire State Route 26 runs through the Dixville Notch mountain gap. The Dixville Notch is particularly known for its short, steep gorge that divides Cave Mountain and Dixville Peak. It also functions as a separation line between the Androscoggin River and the Connecticut River watersheds. Back in 1866, the area’s beauty had already been noticed when innkeeper George Parsons established the Dix House for travelers to lodge. A few nearby cities are Berlin, Colebrook, and Errol.
