Rocky Gap State Park RV & Campground Guide

Maryland

A 3,000-acre park in beautiful western Maryland, Rocky Gap State Park is a favorite gathering place of locals and visitors alike. The park features the 243-acre Lake Habeeb, which is rumored to have the “bluest water in the state”.

Other park features include Rocky Gap Run, steep cliffs, a beautiful forest, and the stately Evitts Mountain, which overlooks the lake in an almost protective fashion.

As far as the weather goes, this park certainly sees all four seasons. Winters are very cold and aren’t ideal for outdoor recreation. However, the springs warm up fairly quickly, and warmer temperatures last well into the fall, meaning you can comfortably visit the park most times outside of winter.

Just be aware that the majority of the park’s precipitation comes down in the springtime, meaning you just might want an umbrella if you visit between April and June.
