Morro Bay State Park is a beautiful natural area that includes a lagoon and a natural bay, and it's also home to Morro Rock, which is a volcanic peak in the middle of Morro Bay. The park is full of wildlife and geological features as well as cultural and Native American history. It's located in the western part of San Luis Obispo County, which is in central California on the coast. Because of its coastal location, the park has a moderate climate that features temperatures between the 40s and the 60s year-round. In October, you may see temperatures hit the 70s, and between June and November, the lows are in the 50s. The rainy season in Morro Bay, which produces about 17 inches of rainfall, is between October and April with February being the rainiest month.
