Located in Northern Arizona, Fort Verde State Historic Park is a brilliant display of the region's history. This state park is located in Camp Verde, Arizona, a small town that is full of character and has plenty of scenic views to boot. Fort Verde's land may be flat, but the Coconino National Forest and nearby mountains and canyons provide plenty of places to fish in forest lakes, and the area offers lazy creeks and streams to wade in on a hot summer day.

Verde River RV Resort & Cottages has access to the Verde River with just a short walk from the back of the resort's property. This is not just a place to camp; the staff offers spa services as well. The park welcomes all big-rig RVs, and the lots have plenty of length and width to accommodate the largest RVs on the market along with all of their slideouts.
The 125 RV sites offer pull-through and back-in spaces with full hookups. These include free wireless internet even during extended stays. The desert landscaping allows for easier leveling, and you'll have access to 30-amp and 50-amp hookups at your request.
If you like basketball or pickleball, Verde River Resort & Cottages has courts for those. There is a billiard room as well. Your little ones have access to a playground and the opportunity to create arts and crafts for the whole family. As for the spa amenities, the resort offers a heated pool, personal sauna rooms and a fitness center.
Distant Drums RV Resort
Located in Camp Verde, Distant Drums RV Resort is nestled right in the middle of Arizona's Wine Country. The campground is just minutes away from Jerome, Prescott and Sedona, allowing for easy access to further historical sites.

Fort Verde State Historic Park also hosts several events throughout the year, including Colonel's Daughter/Little Britches & Petticoat Contest and the annual Ornament-Making Workshop.

Blazin' M Ranch
The Blazin' M Ranch is a place to enjoy a wide variety of sites and activities. Bring the whole family on the train ride, try the shooting gallery, pet the friendly farm animals and even try your hand at the mechanical roping horse. The Ranch is located just down the road inside Cottonwood.

If you love to visit the zoo, Camp Verde sports the Out of Africa Wildlife Park where you can see more than 400 animals that have come from all over the world. The Out of Africa Wildlife Park allows you to feed several of the animals throughout the year.

Jerome Historical Society
Jerome is a hop, skip and a jump just down the road. There, you can visit the Jerome Historical Society located right on Main Street. With over 11,000 photos, maps, newspapers and documents, Jerome's archivist have preserved the past for each visitor wanting to learn more about the area's history through saved relics and information. The Jerome Historical Society site allows you to get a preview of what you are in for during a visit.

From Highway 17, take the Camp Verde Exit for Finnie Flat Road, also known as Highway 260. Fort Verde State Historic Park is on the east side of Camp Verde and is just minutes away from Highway 17.
