The Seaquest State Park is located a few minutes off of Interstate 5 about halfway between Tacoma, WA, and Portland, OR. The closest city is Castle Rock, WA, which is six miles to the west. While July and August typically see little to no rain, the region sees an average annual rainfall of about 54 inches, with December and January being the wettest months. This state park sits on Silver Lake, which was formed when an early eruption of Mt. Saint Helens created a natural dam on the Silver Creek. The park includes wetlands and forested areas, so there's plenty of wildlife to view. Some spots on the hiking trails offer spectacular views of Mt. Saint Helens.

Seaquest State Park Campground
The Seaquest State Park Campground is a great option when you want to stay close to nature. It has 18 partial hook-up sites and 15 with full hook-ups. You'll find a ton of amenities that will make the park feel like home, and there's nothing like staying on-site to eliminate travel time at the end and beginning of each day. Partial hookup sites start at $30 during winter and $35 during peak season. Full hook-up sites start at $35 in winter and $40 during peak season. Amenities include:

Mt. Saint Helens RV park
If you're looking for a campground with plenty of amenities, check out Mt. Saint Helens RV park. This KOA campground offers full and partial hookup spots with 50-amp power. The campground's pull-through sites allow a maximum length of 60 feet. Wi-Fi is available, and pets are welcome with an additional fee. Rates start at $18 per night for spots with no hookups. Silver Cove RV Resort
RV spots at Silver Cove RV Resort have full hookups, including cable TV. This pet-friendly campground offers easy access to Silver Lake with an on-site boat ramp. Seaquest State Park
Inside Seaquest State Park
With seven miles of hiking trails, this 505-acre state park provides a wealth of recreational and educational activities. Silver Lake offers seasonal fishing as well as boating, kayaking, and swimming. The Mount St. Helens Visitor Center is located within the park. There, you can participate in a variety of programs, each often about 15 to 20 minutes long, exploring topics such as the 1980s eruption, local Native American culture, and the history of the area. The park has two playgrounds, a volleyball court, six horseshoe pits, and an amphitheater.
How to Get to
Seaquest State Park
From the Portland, Oregon, area, take Interstate 5 to exit 49 toward Castle Rock/Toutle. Turn right onto WA-504 E/Mt St Helens Way NE and travel about 5 miles. The entrance to Seaquest State Park will be on the right. From the Seattle area, take I-5 to exit 49 toward Huntington Ave N in Cowlitz County. Then follow WA-504 E/Mt St Helens Way NE about 5 miles until you reach the entrance on the right.
Entering Seaquest State Park
Hours at Seaquest State Park are from 8 a.m. until dusk all year. Some campsites do close during winter. You must purchase a Discover Pass prior to your visit as there is not an automated pay station on site.
