Millersylvania State Park is located 8 miles south of Olympia in Washington. Its 903 acres include Deep Lake, as well as 3,300 feet of freshwater shoreline and wooded areas of old-growth cedar and fir trees. Thanks to the state park’s well-preserved Civilian Conservation Corps landscape, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. With its stunning natural beauty, numerous visitors flock here year-round to take part in camping, as well as other recreational activities such as hiking or biking the 16 miles of trails, swimming, boating, fishing, and more.
The state park is also home to many species of wildlife, including chipmunks, coyotes, deer, otters, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, eagles, and hawks. TheAmerican Heritage Campground is just over a 5-minute drive from the state park, allowing you to be very close to all that Millersylvania has to offer. They’re open all year for RV camping and the grounds are sprawled across a peaceful, 25-acre forest. Daily rates start at $40.

Riverbend Campground
Travel around half an hour north-east and you’ll findRiverbend Campground, which offers over 75 sites for RVs and tents, as well as full and partial hookups. They’re located on the beautiful Nisqually River, just minutes off I-5. RV sites start at $40 per day.

Inside Millersylvania State Park
Whether you want to enjoy hiking or biking the 16 miles of trails, swimming, boating, fishing, or more – there’s certainly something for every type of traveler at Millersylvania State Park.
Hiking : There are 8.6 miles of dedicated hiking trails within the park. The trails zigzag all around, so visitors can construct a loop of up to five miles and add some side trips on if they wish. Parts of the trails have been board walked to help hikers avoid areas prone to mud. There’s also a Fitness Trail for those looking to get their heart rate up!
Biking : There are 7.6 miles of dedicated bike trails for those wishing to enjoy the scenery whilst cycling. These trails will take cyclists through wooded areas, marsh land and near Deep Lake, so there’s never a dull moment.
Swimming : The state park is home to two swimming beaches along the shoreline of Deep Lake, both of which are very popular during summer.
Boating : The 66-acre Deep Lake also provides opportunities for non-motorized boating, including kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boats. A boat launch ramp can be found on either side of the lake. Boating requires a park permit and the speed limit for watercraft is 5 mph.
Fishing : Deep Lake is also the perfect place to sink a line within the park. There’s a fishing dock at the boat-launch area and anglers can expect to catch species such as rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and yellow perch. Fishing is seasonal and a recreational license is required in Washington state parks.

Millersylvania State Park
From I-5 heading north, take exit 95 (about 15 minutes south of Olympia). Drive east three miles and follow signs to Millersylvania State Park.

A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to the state park for day use. There is a pay station within the park for visitors to purchase a one-day ($10) or annual ($30) Discover Pass.
