Located on the southern fork of the Shenandoah River, The Shenandoah River State Park has over 1,600 acres for you to explore set along 5.2 miles of shoreline. To the west, you'll see the majestic peak of Massanutten Mountain. Nearby attractions include the Shenandoah National Park and the magnificent Luray Caverns. Civil War buffs will be excited to find Culpeper, Leesburg, and Manassas within driving distance, as well as the nation's capital, Washington D.C. The park has facilities for visitors to bike, fish, canoe, and ride horseback as well as 24 miles of hiking trails.

Shenandoah River State Park Campground
By camping within the Shenandoah River State Park, you'll be close to all the action and enjoy the serene natural beauty of the environment. Camping is available all year at 31 sites that have water and electric hookups. There are also centrally located restrooms with hot showers as well as fire-rings, picnic tables, and lantern holders at each designated site. The fee is $40 for Virginia residents and $46 for non-residents, which includes up to two vehicles per site. Pets are allowed, and firewood is for sale.

You can enjoy hiking, biking, or horseback riding on over 24 miles of trails. Wading and floating are permitted in the river. A fish trap allows for wade fishing while anglers can fish anywhere. Boating is also permitted in the park. One of the most unique features about this park is the number of waterfalls that can easily be hiked to.
How to Get to
Shenandoah River State Park
The park's address is 350 Daughter of the Stars Drive, Bentonville, VA. It is located in Warren County, off Rt. 340 in Bentonville.
To get here from Northern Virginia, take I-66 W to exit 13 and then take a right onto Rt. 55 W. Take a left onto 340 S and follow it until you come to the park entrance.
To get here from I-81 S, take the New Market/Luray exit and then turn right onto 211 E, then another right onto 340 N.
