Wasatch Mountain State Park comprises 21,000 acres and is located in Wasatch County near the cities of Midway and Charleston, Utah. Ever since it opened in 1961, the park has been home to a diverse array of plants and wildlife as well as a vacation destination for millions of travelers. Well-known for its fairly mild temperatures through most of the year, gorgeous scenery, and several historic sites, it's hard not to have fun when you stop by for a visit here. Wasatch Mountain State Park Campgrounds
If you just can't get enough of Wasatch Mountain State Park, you can try camping at one of their 123 campsites fit for RVs. Campers have the option to reserve spots with full hookups for $30 per night and spots with only water and electric for $25 per night. Plus, there is a limited number of primitive campsites without hookups for $14 per night and group campsites for $50 per night. Regardless of the kind of spot you pick, you'll have access to tons of amenities that range from restrooms, showers, and golf course access to skiing, fishing equipment rental, and much more. Pets are also welcome here when kept on a leash.
Mountain Valley RV Resort
Mountain Valley RV Resort is situated in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. Spots here cost between $40 and $58 per night (add an extra $10 to these rates during peak season) and include access to tons of amenities within the resort. These include a large heated swimming pool and hot tub, clean restrooms, hot showers, full RV hookups (voltage depending on the site), a laundry facility, a basketball court, free cable TV, free Wi-Fi, and much more. You can even bring your pets.
River's Edge at Deer Park
At River's Edge at Deer Park near the Jordanelle Reservoir, campers can reserve spots with full hookups for $49.50 per night or spots with only water and sewer hookups for $32 per night. Full-hookup sites include a picnic table and a large fire pit while partial-hookup spots only include a small fire pit. However, all spaces provide you access to the other amenities located in the park, including the general store, Matthew's Pond (no fishing license required to fish here), a playground, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a recreation center with outdoor and indoor gaming supplies and much more. The park is also pet-friendly and includes free Wi-Fi throughout.

Activities like hiking, bird-watching, picnicking, and the like are all immensely popular with visitors to Wasatch Mountain State Park as is fishing at the water sources around the area. During the winter, snowfall allows for activities like skiing. Golfers can visit the Wasatch Mountain Golf Course located on the property that includes two 18-hole courses. The park is also home to no less than three historical sites that you can visit: the restored Tate Barn from over a century ago, the ancient Huber Grove apple orchard, and the Snake Creek Hydroelectric Power Plant Historic District.
How to Get to
Wasatch Mountain State Park
There are three possible entrances to Wasatch Mountain State Park by road with the quickest and most direct being the main entrance leading to the visitors center. To use this route, simply head north from Midway on UT 222. The entire journey is only around 3.5 miles in length. The route from the heart of the city is to travel down West Main Street before turning right onto North 200 West/UT 222, at which point you'll just be following the road around the eastern perimeter until you see the signage and park gate.
Entering Wasatch Mountain State Park
Once you reach the park, you'll want to follow the path into it toward the golf course and headquarters. At the gate, you'll need to pay $7 for entry for each vehicle (up to eight people per car). The park is open to visitors from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day with closures for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
