Village Creek State Park, located about 3 miles southeast of Lumberton, covers 1,090 acres in the Big Thicket region of Texas. The park, which was opened in 1994, offers easy access to the 21-mile long Village Creek Paddling Trail. You can grab some fishing gear from the park’s office, which is located about 10 miles north of Beaumont, Texas, and fish for sunfish, catfish, and bass. Located 100 miles northeast of Houston, Village Creek State Park features 8 miles of hiking and biking trails for you to explore. It's one of the few parks in the state with a free-flowing creek, so it's a great place to enjoy some canoeing while you soak up the incredible scenery.

How to Get to
Village Creek State Park
It is easy to get to this park from Beaumont, Texas. Start by taking U.S. Highway 69/96 North. Take the Mitchell Road exit. Turn right on Mitchell Road and turn an immediate left on FM 3513. In about 2 miles, turn right on Alma Drive and cross the railroad tracks. Veer slightly to your left, and you'll reach the park’s entrance in about half a mile.
If you are coming to this park from a North Houston location, like The Woodlands, then get on TX 99. It will become U.S. 69 and TX 105 before you reach Sour Lake. In Sour Lake, take TX 421 East to Lumberton. In Lumberton, turn left on South Main Street. Turn right on Matthews Lane. Then, turn left on South Village Creek Parkway. Turn a quick right on Tram Road and another immediate left on Alma Drive. Finally, take a slight left to get on Park Road 74. You will see the park in half a mile.
