While the main reason to come to Lake Brownwood State Park may be the fishing, there are many ways to play on the water, including water skiing and canoeing. Many families have enjoyed hosting reunions at the recreation hall with its rooftop balcony. When the weather is warm, take a dip at the swimming beach. This park is also a favorite among many community organizations that hold special events here. During the holidays, the campground in this park is often the host to seasonal activities.

Lake Brownwood State Park
From Brownwood, Texas, get on U.S. 279 heading northwest. Go 17 miles and turn east on State Park Road 15. You will reach the park in about 6 miles.
From Bangs, Texas, get on U.S. 67 North/U.S. 84 E. Turn left on FM 1849 and take another left onto TX 279 N. Turn right on State Park Road 15. Drive 6 miles, and you will reach the park.

Lake Brownwood State Park is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Passes must be reserved online or by phone prior to your visit.
