Goose Island State Park RV & Campground Guide

Texas

Goose Island State Park is a small island-based state park on the southeastern side of Texas. Located near the community of Lamar and the city of Rockport, this state park has 321 acres of gorgeous scenery that's enjoyed by the more than 60,000 campers who visit it each year. The park is famous for the head-spinning variety of rare and endangered birds that visit it year-round, and just like many of those feathered visitors, you can enjoy great fishing in the waters surrounding the island. The weather varies throughout the year, with more moderate temperatures during the winter and early spring and sweltering summers with decent humidity and rain. It's definitely worth a stop for some incredible bird-watching and a look at the island's magnificent Big Tree.
