Natchez Trace State Park

is a public recreation area located in Wildersville, Tennessee. It's named after the historically significant Natchez Trace woodland path, which was one of the important wilderness trails used during the late-18th and early-19th centuries. The park itself was built and established during the New Deal when farmers who occupied the area sold their property to the state due to erosion. With a total land area of over 48,000 acres, the state park offers countless opportunities to experience Tennessee's unique natural attractions. Some amenities you can look forward to if you travel here include horseback riding, waterfront activities, and multiple wilderness trails. Inside Natchez Trace State Park

The 58-acre Cub Lake is one of the most popular spots at Natchez Trace State Park, and you can head there for activities such as swimming and fishing. You can also find a public beach and rentals on Jon-boats or paddle boats near the lake. If you happen to be a fan of horseback riding, the southern end of the recreation area hosts an expansive 250 miles of riding trails you can use at your leisure. Pin Oak Lake, the largest lake at the state park, covers 690 acres and is open to the public for water skiing, boating, and more. The Pin Oak Lodge is located just to the side, featuring a general store that stays stocked with the necessities and a swimming pool.

Natchez Trace State Park

Two cities that people frequently travel to Natchez Trace State Park from include Nashville, Tennessee, and Atlanta, Georgia. If you're coming from Nashville, start the route by getting on I-40 W/I-65 N. After following I-40 W to Westport, take exit 116 from I-40 W. Turn left onto TN-114 S/Natchez Trace Dr to arrive at the destination. 

If you're coming from Atlanta, start by getting on I-75 N/I-85 N. After continuing on I-75 N to your destination in Westport, take exit 116 from I-40 W. Finally, turn left onto TN-114 S/Natchez Trace.
