- Tobyhanna State Park
Tobyhanna State Park is a charming public recreation area located mostly in Coolbaugh Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Its massive expense covers 5,440 acres, which includes the 170-acre Tobyhanna Lake, a portion of the Tobyhanna Creek, and dense greenery. The state park was established in 1949, and it is now governed by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Moreover, the recreation area is one of several state lands that were carved from an artillery training range that came before Tobyhanna Army Depot. A statement to visitors from the Pennsylvania DCNR even indicates that old, unexploded artillery shells are still in the grass in the state park's more remote areas. A few cities you can easily reach from Tobyhanna State Park include East Stroudsburg, Dunmore, and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
