Jackson Lake State Park lies nestled in the heart of southeastern Ohio and is in a profoundly forested region that contains a variety of oak, hickory, maple, and tulip trees. Ohio's rugged hills and mist-filled valleys offer a beautiful, colorful backdrop for the state park, making it some of the most picturesque scenery in the state. The park is the home of many animal species, including wild turkeys and white-tailed deer. Other residents are gray squirrels, raccoons, opossums, and great horned owls. The park features a varying habitat that supports gorgeous wildflowers in the spring through autumn, including goldenrod, aster, dame's violet, and spring beauties.
