RV Resorts & Campsites in Hocking Hills State Park
Hocking Hills State Park features fairly luxurious camping accommodations right by the famous Old Man’s Cave, including RV sites with full hookups offering 50-amp electric service. However, with more than 4 million visitors crowding the park each year, even a generous campground fills up quickly -- which is why we’ve put together some other area options for you to consider below.
Psst: if you’re still on that tent camping level, might we suggest that this trip is the time to upgrade to a motorhome or travel trailer? Don’t get us wrong, we love sleeping under the stars as much as anyone else… we just prefer to do it with a real mattress and pillow. (What can we say? Sleeping bags lose some of their appeal as you get older.)
If you don’t own an RV of your own, don’t worry. There are thousands of well-kept, cozy rigs to choose from available on the peer-to-peer market at RVshare. When you source your RV rental from a trusted private owner, you’re putting money right back into the camping community -- and funding future adventures!

Inside Hocking Hills State Park
Although it would be hard to have a bad time at Hocking Hills State Park even if you did nothing but sit back and bask in the scenery, there are plenty of outdoor recreational activities that keep visitors busy all year round. Here are a few of the most popular.
Hiking and nature walks - The state park’s 25+ miles of hiking trails are open year-round, offering stunning viewpoints to explorers on foot, cross-country ski or snowshoe. Trail features include waterfalls, wildflowers, caves, and more -- there’s even a swinging bridge on a trail halfway between Cedar Falls and Old Man’s Cave, two of the park’s most beloved attractions.
Hunting and fishing - Properly-licensed hunters and fisherfolk are welcome to catch themselves some dinner inside the state park’s boundaries. Rose Lake’s 17 acres are populated by Bluegill, Channel Catfish, and Rainbow Trout, and hunters stalk everything from deer to wild turkey.
Archery and disc golf ranges are available to those looking to sharpen their hand-eye coordination.
Winter sports are popular when Jack Frost blows his white breath over the landscape; ice fishing is common and an annual winter hike is held each January.
