Winding rivers and the large Harsha Lake give visitors 2,160 acres of water recreation. The forests and grasslands offer excellent views of nature and an opportunity for outdoor fun. FMCA Campground
If you're a member of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA), you can stay at the FMCA Campground for two nights per month for free and an additional five nights for $20 to $30 depending on space availability. It is a members-only campground that accommodates 45-foot long RVs. All sites are equipped with a concrete pad or blacktop, fire pit, and picnic table.

What to Do at
East Fork State Park
Multi-use trails travel through East Fork State Park, taking you through forests, grasslands, and abandoned farmlands. Horseback riding, biking, and hiking are allowed on designated trails. Two archery ranges offer target practice, miniature golf, soccer, basketball, and cornhole boards for your whole group to enjoy. The nature center at the park provides general information and the history of the area with interactive exhibits, including soft-shell turtles, box turtles, and painted turtles. The summer naturalist programs include archery, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding events.
If you want to relax with your friends or family, check out the nine picnic areas with scenic views. Toss some bags or kayak around the reservoir to be more active. Explore miles of trails and see the hidden beauty across thousands of acres.
Inside East Fork State Park
Inside East Fork State Park, you'll have a great selection of nature to explore on the 46 miles of backcountry trails as well as the 32-mile Perimeter Trail and 16-mile Backpack Trail. You can enter these trails either from the south access near the park entrance or on the north side near visitor parking. The 9.6-mile mountain biking trail is a mixture of loops and smooth stretches that travel through wooded areas and is suitable for novice to intermediate cyclists. You can go swimming from the 1,200-foot swimming beach that features changing booths, restrooms, showers, and vending machines. Other activities to do inside the park are picnicking, fishing, boating, camping, ice skating, sledding, and cross-country skiing.
Fishing
Fish anglers commonly catch at the park are largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and crappie. You can also reel in bluegill and hybrid striper. Fish from the vast shoreline, your boat, and off the fishing pier near the North Shore Boat Ramp. Anyone 16 and older must have a valid Ohio fishing license, which you can purchase at the park office.
Geocaching

Nature Watching
Birdwatching is popular at East Fork, so pack the binoculars and have your camera ready. A bird blind is behind the kiosk at the South Trailhead. Saddle Dam provides spectacular views of waterfowl, and the main beach hosts dozens of bird species, especially migratory ones.
Stargazing
Get out from the cover of the trees at the picnic area or head to the beach to get a clear view of the night sky. This park is far away from city lights, so it is a great place for stargazing on a clear night.
Flora and Fauna
Woodlands in the park feature beech, sugar maple, red and white oak, shagbark hickory, and wild black cherry. The swampy forest has silver maple, American elm, sycamore, and black gum trees. Across the meadows and prairie lands, you'll find bluestem grass and purple coneflower. Wildlife in East Fork State Park includes eastern plains garter snakes, fence lizards, red foxes, deer, raccoons, Canada geese, song sparrows, eastern meadowlarks, and barn swallows.
Hiking
With more trails than any other park in the Ohio state park system, East Fork provides miles of nature exploration and exercise.
The trails range in difficulty from easy to strenuous, with some as short as half a mile. Check out the Storybook Trail for a quick trek with a children's story as you go. Many of the trails are used for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, so be sure to read the signs and share the path.
Boating
Take off from one of the eight boat launch ramps around the lake and enjoy the unlimited horsepower regulations. There is a designated boat-swim and boat camping area at Buffalo Bay near the Tate Boat Ramp. A life jacket loaner board has been posted at the Hand Launch ramp near the main beach.
Swimming
A 1,200-foot sandy swimming beach gives you a designated space to take a dip or catch some sun. Changing rooms and restrooms are available nearby.
Biking
26 miles of bike trails take you across flat, smooth surfaces, steep hills, and switchbacks. With some of the best scenery in the state, test out your endurance on one of the several biking trails.
How to Get to
East Fork State Park
From Cincinnati, take Interstate 275 to Highway 125. Highway 125 will take you southeast to Old State Rte 125. Take a left onto Elklick Road to get to the park office.
Entering East Fork State Park
Plentiful parking lots offer parking throughout the state park. Some parking lots include those near the camp store, the boat ramps, and the beach. There is no entry fee to visit East Fork State Park.

Late spring through early fall hosts some of the best temperatures for getting out on the lake, swimming, and picnicking in the park. Autumn colors burst in the woodlands, perfect for capturing stunning photos. If you want to brave the winter cold and snow, ice skating, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing are all options.
Eastern plains garter snakes, fence lizards, red foxes, deer, and raccoons are known to scurry through the park. Canada geese, song sparrows, eastern meadowlarks, and barn swallows are among the birds that live at East Fork.
The East Fork State Park campground has 416 designated RV camping spots. Some feature electricity only, while others have full hookups with sewer and water.
You must reserve your campsite in advance of your stay. Reservations can be made online or by phone up to 6 months out, or you can book a spot at the camp store during open hours. The nightly fee for campsites ranges from $27 to $42.
Pets on a leash are welcome in all park areas except the beach sand areas. You are expected to clean up after your four-legged family members.
