Tombigbee State Park is a beautiful public recreation area located about five miles to the east of Tupelo, Mississippi, right off Highway 6. It contains a total land area of 480 acres and also surrounds the 90-acre Lake Lee. The state park's name comes from the Tombigbee River, a tributary of the Mobile River and a popular tourist attraction. Established in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Tombigbee State Park was one of the first public parks to be established in the region. Some of the closest cities you can reach from this public recreation area include West Point and Oxford, Mississippi, and Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Birmingham, Alabama, and Memphis, Tennessee, are two major U.S. cities that people frequently travel to Tombigbee State Park from. On the way from Birmingham, you should begin by getting onto I-65 N. Next, you will follow I-22 to MS-371 S in Lee County and get off from I-22 at Exit 94. Complete your route by continuing on MS-371 S and taking State Park Road to Cabin Drive.
If you are traveling from Memphis, begin by getting onto I-40. From this point, you will follow I-69, I-269 N, and I-22/US-78 E to N Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Tupelo. Take Exit 87 from I-22/US-78 E. Finish your route by continuing along N Veterans Memorial Boulevard and taking MS-6 E/Briar Ridge Road and State Park Road to Cabin Drive.
