Sleepy Hollow State Park’s more than 2,600 acres includes a river that winds through woods and fields. Lake Ovid also offers plenty of outdoor activities, as well as chances to look for water-loving birds and wildlife. In fact, over 228 species of birds have been recorded in the park, including bald eagles. The park is popular in winter as well, with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and other winter activities.
The park can get quite cold in winter, with temperatures dropping down into the mid-teens in January. Summers are mild, too, however, with an average high of 83°F in July. The area gets roughly a week of precipitation each month.

There are a number of things to do at Sleepy Hollow State Park.
Hiking: Trails at the park take you through prairie grasses, hardwood forest, and pine trees. The park has 16 miles of trails available.
Biking: Biking is allowed on all of the hiking trails as well.
Metal detecting: Metal detecting is another popular activity in the park. See if you can find some buried treasure!
Winter activities: Visitors to the park can also dog sled and snowshoe on the same trails they hike or cycle in summer.

Take I-496 E to US-127 N toward Flint. Take exit 91 for US-127 BUS/Price Rd. Turn right onto E. Price Rd. and follow the road into the park.
