Timberland Acres RV Park
Timberland Acres RV Park has been in operation since 1985. The park is family owned, and they offer military discounts to former and current service members. They have more than 70 pull-through sites where you can stay. They are also big rig-friendly, so you can bring in your toy haulers and fifth wheels without an issue.

Bar Harbor Campground
Bar Harbor Campground is a family-owned campground that has been in operation for over 50 years. This location is very close to fishing locations and hiking trails. There is a bus stop right outside the campground that will take you to the closest town if you prefer to take public transportation rather than driving.

Acadia Seashore Camping

What to Do at
Lamoine State Park
From the park, you can see Mount Desert Island, Frenchman Bay, the Mt Desert Narrows and Eastern Bay. Head to the beach to watch the sunrise for a therapeutic experience. From Labor Day through June, you can go hunting for white-tailed deer, moose, rabbits or squirrels at Lamoine State Park. Although the park facilities are closed in the winter, you can go cross-country skiing and sledding. The hills along Campground Trail are perfect for sledding.
Inside Lamoine State Park
Lamoine State Park has an ocean setting with a pebbled beach, so activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming can be enjoyed. There is also a trail here that you can hike that offers stunning views of the Cadillac Mountains, and the trail goes down to the shore, allowing you to enjoy a stroll by the water. In the winter, the park is open for visitors to enjoy cross-country skiing.
Fishing
Some of the best species to target at Lamoine State Park are mackerel, white flounder, bluefish and striped bass. Cast a line from the shore, a kayak or a motorized boat. You can also bring a bucket and a shovel to dig for clams on the beach.
Nature Watching
You have a chance of seeing dolphins and whales at Lamoine State Park. Pay attention to where the water is deep if you're wanting to spot one of these mammals. Winter offers some unique birding opportunities, including goldeneyes, common eiders and loons. Other types of birds that you can see at Lamoine State Park are eagles, herons, ospreys, Canada geese, sandpipers, woodpeckers, warblers and nuthatches. The last three species are in the wooded area of the park. It's possible to come across black bears at Lamoine State Park, although you might not have expected them so close to the coast. They usually live in wooded areas, but some are near beaches.
Stargazing
Observing the night sky on the beach is an enchanting experience you won't want to miss. This area of Maine is known for having beautiful night skies.
Flora and Fauna
Pay attention to the trees at Lamoine State Park to spot the beautiful crabapple. This ornamental tree sprouts bright flowers in the spring and produces fruit in the fall. You can spot a host of animals throughout the park, including deer, foxes, beavers, frogs, turtles and salamanders.
Hiking
Along Campground Trail, you'll have several opportunities to take amazing pictures of the ocean and Mount Desert Island. Most of the trail is by the beach. You'll also come across a tree house that you can check out.
Boating
You can set sail in either non-motorized or motorized boats to enjoy the ocean in the way that you like the most. Boat rentals are available through third parties if you don't have a boat.
Swimming
The water at Lamoine State Park is warmer than at the other beaches, though it's still cold. Take a refreshing dip in the ocean in the summer and play with any beach toys that you bring with you.
How to Get to
Lamoine State Park
You can reach Lamoine State Park from Coastal Route 1 and Route 1A. The state park is off of Route 184 on State Park Road and is easy to access in an RV. From Ellsworth, travel on ME-184 N. After 4.5 miles, you need to make a left turn to stay on ME-184 N. Turn right onto State Park Road, and you have reached the park.

Summer is the best time to visit Lamoine State Park because the weather is at its warmest, allowing you to comfortably swim and use all of the park facilities. Because of the sledding and cross-country skiing opportunities, you may want to stop by in the winter, too.
Mostly aquatic wildlife, waterfowl and raptors are found at Lamoine State Park, but you can find other animals too. Black bears, woodpeckers, nuthatches, warblers and white-tailed deer also call the park home.
There are designated RV camping spots in Lamoine State Park, but none of them have hookups. You can use the park's restrooms, showers, water spigots and dump station to make your camping more comfortable.
You aren't required to reserve a camping spot, but you may want to if your RV is 35+ feet long because there are limited sites that can accommodate these sizes. It costs $10 to make a reservation and about $20 per night to camp at Lamoine State Park.
You can bring your pet to Lamoine State Park if you keep them restrained. Pets may not be allowed in certain areas, such as inside of park buildings. You're also required to clean up after your pet.
