Bridgeview

Another campsite that is also located off Rathbun Lake is Bridgeview. It's a large campground with room for 106 family sites. The majority of the spots here offer electric, about 95. For some fun while spending the day or weekend at Bridgeview, go for a hike where you may be able to spot some of the various types of wildlife that reside around the lake. Other things to do here include fishing, biking, ice climbing, and swimming. Campers can expect daily rates to run from $18 -$20 at this campsite, depending on the time of year and type of site.

Besides playing golf, there is also an onsite waterpark here, so bringing a bathing suit is a must if you plan on splashing the day away.

In business since the year 2005, Captain Landing's Restaurant is a great little restaurant that serves pizza, chicken wings, and sandwiches. It's a family-owned operation with three generations working side by side to please the bellies of Iowans living in Moravia.

White Oaks Grill, LLC

Named after a coal mine and boasting the title of being the only place in Exline to get a home-cooked meal, White Oaks Grill is a cozy restaurant set in the tiny city of Exline, Iowa. With a population of only 154 people, to the locals of this town, coming to eat here is like dining with your very own family. Newcomers will feel welcomed once they stop by for dinner here, and menu items include steaks, country fried chicken, and a variety of homemade pies. Breakfast and lunch are available on the grill, too, for those who like to eat earlier in the day.

Lula’s Bakery origin story is a heartwarming one. It began as Lula Cakes in 2011 when the owner found her late grandmother's chocolate cake recipe and decided to see if she could recreate it. With success, the inspiration came to open up a bakery shop, and thus, Lula's was breathed into creation. The bakery sells various cupcakes by the dozen, as well as a variety of cookies.

Wabash Depot Museum Complex

Built in 1903, the Wabash Depot Museum Complex is a relic from the past. It was once part of the Wabash railroad system, and today it has become a historical site where visitors can learn about and examine railroad artifacts. There is even an old railroad car onsite. The complex also features a garden, church, and kitchen that visitors may explore.

Appanoose County Historical & Coal Mining Museum

Although not currently open at this time, the Appanoose County Historical & Coal Mining Museum is a site that should be visited on your future stops to Centerville, IA. It features a sheriff's residence and connecting jail, as well as a wooden log cabin called the bland cabin that was taken apart log by log, relocated, and rebuilt into what it is now.

Lelah Bradly Park

Lelah Bradly Park is a great place to spend a day bike riding. It has two lakes and 10 miles of trails for hikers to explore the grounds. Bring a fishing pole to see the life in the lakes or bring your hunting gear as hunting is allowed on site.

Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail

This large national park extends to other states besides Iowa, such as Illinois, Wyoming, Utah, and Nebraska. The Mormon Pioneer Trail is dedicated to a group of Mormon pioneers who traveled across 1300 miles after fleeing the city of Nauvoo in Illinois.

Tile jewelry, artwork, and other antique items are found at Forbrush Artiques. It's an eclectic little shop, and sometimes those can be the best.
