Head to Red Top Mountain State Park near Acworth, Georgia, to enjoy playing on the 12,000-acre Lake Allatoona. Here, you can go boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. A great way to explore this park, which covers 1,776 acres of a wooded peninsula that goes into the lake, is on the four-mile biking trail. Additionally, there are over 15 miles of hiking trails available. A tennis court and miniature golf course are also available. This park is located 40 miles northwest of Atlanta, 24 miles north of Marietta and 3.2 miles northeast of Emerson.

Red Top Mountain State Park

Inside Red Top Mountain State Park

Head to Red Top Mountain State Park to play on Lake Allatoona. Here, there are two boat ramps, two boat docks, and a marina. There's also a sand beach and playground that's perfect for the kids. Bring your bike to ride on the looped trail around the lake or explore the hiking trails. If you're planning on staying here, Red Top Mountain has 93 campsites as well as 20 cottages available for reservation.

Outside Red Top Mountain State Park

How to Get to
Red Top Mountain State Park

This park, located less than an hour from Atlanta, is easy to reach by taking Interstate 75 North to Exit 278 Glade Road. Get on Glade Road Southeast and take it about 4.4 miles to Lodge Road Southeast, and you will be at the park. 

Entering Red Top Mountain State Park

A $5 parking fee is charged at this park that is open for day-use from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Some facilities, such as the miniature golf course, may have different hours.
