Inside Little Ocmulgee State Park
This 1,360-acre Georgia state park was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Today, it's a popular lakeside retreat with plenty of recreation options. If you love to swim, then you will want to head to the pool as soon as you arrive. Then, lay on the beach and play on the river. There's a 2.6-mile hiking trail and an 18-hole golf course available for those who want to stay dry.
Fishing
Enjoy freshwater fishing from the lake dock or shore. A concrete boat ramp is available for anglers to launch their watercraft and fish from anywhere on the lake. Little Ocmulgee Lake features a bed of grass and lily pads at the surface. You'll find largemouth bass, black crappie, longnose gar, and chain pickerel in plentiful numbers in the lake.

How to Get to
Little Ocmulgee State Park
From McRae-Helena, take Highway 280 to Highway 319. Head north on 319 to Route 133. Head west on 133, following the signage to enter the park on Spanish Moss Drive.
