is located in Newnan, Georgia, along a bend of the Chattahoochee River. This 2,910-acre park is the perfect place to get a good view of the river and surrounding forest area. Comprising a 527-acre recreational area in Whitesburg, McIntosh Reserve Park is a 30-minute drive from Chattahoochee Bend. It also flows along the Chattahoochee River banks, which makes it a favorite among campers. The campground features well-maintained campsites and a peaceful environment with historic sites. It's a great spot to learn about Creek Indian history in particular.

Inside Chattahoochee Bend State Park

Chattahoochee Bend State Park is a quiet, well-maintained park with a beautiful raw forest. Visitors can experience six miles of nature trails filled with unique plants and wildlife. The watchtower is a unique feature of the park that offers a great view near a clearing by the river. Many of the trails follow the Chattahoochee River, which is one of the area's main features. Other activities campers can enjoy include biking, boating, fishing, geocaching, hiking, and paddling along the river in a canoe or kayak rental.

Outside Chattahoochee Bend State Park

After your stop at this state park, you can move on to sightseeing and enjoying the surrounding area. Chattahoochee Bend State Park is in a good location in west-central Georgia. You can visit several small towns and drive up to Atlanta to enjoy city life.

How to Get to
Chattahoochee Bend State Park

The easiest route is to take highway I-185. You will see signs for Interstate 185 N/Atlanta and merge onto I-185 N. Take Exit 41 for US-27/US-29 heading toward Newnan. You will drive for about 25 miles on a back road into the country. There will be signs for Coweta County Fair Grounds. You will need to make a left from Clark Street onto Temple Avenue. Finally, turn right on Flat Rock Road, and follow the signs to Chattahoochee Bend State Park.

Entering Chattahoochee Bend State Park

Chattahoochee Bend State Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Camping reservations can be made in advance via the park's website.
