Located 13 miles north of Bristol and about 19 miles from downtown Chattahoochee, Torreya State Park is a unique riverside multi-use area in Florida's Panhandle. It was named after a rare species of Torreya tree that was discovered here in the early 1800s. Today, the park features 16 miles of challenging hiking trails that offer a glimpse into the local wildlife. Birdwatching is also popular as well over 100 species of birds have been identified in the park. When you vacation here, be sure to check the temperature as the summers can be quite hot.

As a multi-use area, Torreya State Park is popular for everything from birdwatching to picnicking and relaxing on the water. The park's high plateaus, steep bluffs, and deep ravines are ideal for more extensive hikes. The park overlooks the Apalachicola River, where you can go swimming, kayaking, boating, and more. You can also tour the Gregory House, which is a former plantation located on park grounds.
How to Get to
Torreya State Park
From downtown Bristol, head north on FL-12 East towards Main Street for about four miles. Turn left onto Highway 270, and travel for a mile until you reach Martin Luther King Drive, Country Road 11641. Continue for 6.5 miles, and then follow the signs to your destination.
