Located about 12 miles northwest of Live Oak, Florida, Suwannee River State Park offers many different opportunities. You can go on a family bike ride on the paved park roads, but there is plenty of places to go fat-tire and mountain biking. Boating enthusiasts can use the boat ramp to gain access to the Suwannee River and Withlacoochee River. Hike along the high banks of the Suwannee River and through open, sunny pine forests to see Confederate earthworks, one of the oldest cemeteries in Florida, and an old ferry landing. Some paths within the park connect to the Florida National Scenic Trail, so longer hikes are possible. This park's location 95 miles west of Jacksonville, 36 miles northwest of Lake City, and 15 miles southeast of Madison, Florida, makes it easy for many people to reach.

Hiking trails lead through beautiful scenery to many historical sites with interpretative signage that tells you what happened there. This site also contains one of the oldest cemeteries in Florida.

Getting to Suwannee River State Park from Live Oak is an easy task. Simply head northeast on Dowling Avenue SE for a little under 350 feet. Then turn left on US 90 West and continue for just over 12 miles. Turn right on Stagecoach Road, and you'll be at the park in less than 100 feet.
