Tyndall's Point Park

Robert Tyndall was the first person to map the James and York rivers. By 1633, workers had constructed a large tobacco warehouse, and this site became an essential trading port with the Native Americans. Tyndall's Point Park is part of the larger Gloucester Point system of parks, and it protects the site where the Battle of the Hook and other important American Revolutionary War battles took place. Stroll along the short sidewalk to read the signs explaining more about the events that happened at this site that is part of the larger Gloucester Point. The area contains sharp rises in the land that were perfect hiding spots during the war. American Revolutionary War reenactments occasionally occur at this location.
