Independence National Historical Park, Benjamin Franklin National Memorial

While you are in Philadelphia to visit the Independence National Historical Park, stop by the Franklin Institute to see the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial statue. James Earle Fraser spent five years creating this statue sitting on a 92-ton pedestal of white Seravezza marble. You will find the statue within the John T. Windrim Memorial Hall at the institute. The Department of the Interior is responsible for the upkeep of this memorial, which is classified as an affiliated area.

The Benjamin Franklin National Memorial is inside the Franklin Institute, which is part of Independence National Historical Park. It is straightforward to get to the Franklin Institute from the Fairmont Museum. Head west on Fairmont Avenue. Turn left on North 21st Street.
