North Country National Scenic Trail

The North Country National Scenic Trail is a 4,700-mile hiking trail, making it the longest in the nation. The trail running from west-central North Dakota to Vermont is segmented, and it connects several other paths. Organizers hope that the trail, which was extended in 2019, will eventually be expanded to meet the Appalachian Trail. As of 2021, the trial now runs through North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
