  • Wildcat Creek Trail

    The Wildcat Creek Trail links with the Havey Creek, San Pablo Ridge, and the Belgum trails. It begins on a wide fire road and turns into a path through native woodlands and shaded creek beds. From there, it goes up to a lookout point with stunning views of the city, the bay bridges, and nearby mountains.

  • Ferry Point Path

    Ferry Point Path links up with the San Francisco Bay Trail and Ferry Point Loop Trail. This is an easy trail and a beautiful walk near a lake. It is completely flat and paved, so you can take a wheelchair or stroller easily. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the awesome views along the way.

  • Point Pinole Regional Park Trails

    Point Pinole Regional Park has a huge loop of trails that are extremely popular. This is the perfect area for wildflowers and bird-watching. You can enjoy sprawling meadows, groves of eucalyptus, bluffs, and beaches. Taking the trail will allow you to experience the entire park, including historical features and awe-inspiring views of San Pablo Bay.

  • Alvarado Park

    Alvarado Park is near the northern end of Wildcat Canyon. The facilities there started as an open-air pavilion and dance hall that was later converted into a roller rink. The original pavilion and dance floor are gone, but they have been replaced with extensive stonework, including a beautiful stone arch bridge. This park is in the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Shimada Friendship Park

    The Shimada Friendship Park is a pleasant little spot right on the shoreline. Enjoy some fresh air and maybe feed the ducks while you take your dog for a walk. This is a good place for fishing or a picnic. They also have public bathrooms here.

    The Richmond Museum of History’s permanent collection features documents, photographs, artifacts, and more about the history of Richmond. Exhibits cover the prehistoric period, Spanish/Mexican period, early America, World War II, and today. A highlight is the first Model A Ford made at the Richmond Ford Assembly Plant.

  • Golden State Model Railroad Museum

    The Golden State Model Railroad Museum fills a 10,000-square-foot building with operating model trains. The trains are passengers and freight models typical of the steam era and up to the modern-day diesel models.

How To Get To Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park

To get to the Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park from Interstate 5, exit just south of Dunnigan onto I-505. Head south on I-505 to Vacaville. Take Exit 1A to I-80 West. Follow I-80 West into Richmond. Take Exit 15 for Cutting Boulevard and merge onto Cutting Boulevard. Turn left onto Marina Way South. Travel down to Wright Avenue and turn right again. Turn left onto Harbour Way South and follow it to the park.

The Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park is a great honor to the women and men who worked behind the scenes during World War II. The park also includes the Rosie the Riveter Memorial. They offer a visitor center that is packed with information, as well as rangers and docents who lead tours and answer questions. On Fridays, you can visit with actual home-front workers. This area is also full of coastal beauty, with a number of parks featuring stunning views and wildlife. To get the most from your visit, take the trip in an RV so you can move freely between all the museums and parks and enjoy all that the Richmond area has to offer.
