John is experienced in building businesses from the ground up, especially those dealing with real estate. His work has ranged from hands-on construction to hotel, resort, and marina management. Currently, John and his wife are the gracious innkeepers of the Essex Street Inn & Suites, Ascend Collection, nestled in the heart of historic downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts. The couple owns and operates a number of other properties totaling over 400 units . A resident of East Kingston, John enjoys reading, collecting cars, and automobile memorabilia. He is a Master Mason with a passion for philanthropy and humanitarianism. John has pursued a life of giving back, including monthly donations to the MGH fund. In 2007, the pediatric orthopedic waiting room at MGH was named for John and his wife, Lori. John also has a keen interest in flight, having attained fixed-wing and rotorcraft student licenses.
