National Finals Rodeo
The National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is the Super Bowl of professional rodeo. The world's top cowboys and cowgirls compete for world championship titles and millions in prize money over 10 nights of elite competition. Held each December at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, the 2026 event runs from December 3 to December 12. RV travel makes a lot of sense for the National Finals Rodeo, especially if you plan to attend more than one round. NFR is 10 days of rodeo, shopping, watch parties, concerts, autograph sessions, and late nights around town. RV travel to this event is a natural fit for families, first-time RVers, and rodeo fans looking for a true Western adventure.
ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
The NFR experience starts before you even find your seat. Outside the Thomas & Mack Center, the ProRodeo Zone features PRCA sponsor tents and live music, followed by the NFR Fan Zone. Inside, a 36,000-square-foot hospitality space features interactive areas, a saloon, saddle displays and a glass-enclosed balcony with Strip views. Each of the 10 nights at the 2026 Wrangler NFR has its own theme. Highlights include: • December 5: Golden Night featuring the Golden Circle of Champions • December 6: Memorial Night • December 7: Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night • December 8: Resistol Rookie Night • December 9: Military Night • December 10: Canadian Night • December 11: Legacy Night • December 12: Wrangler National Patriot Night All performances start at 5:45 p.m. For the full schedule, visit the official NFR Experience performance times page.
ON-SITE AMENITIES
The Thomas & Mack Center concourse offers food and beverages, including pizza, hot dogs, healthier options, and a selection of domestic and craft beers. The venue operates primarily on a cashless basis, so bring a card or set up a digital wallet before you arrive. The clear bag policy allows one clear plastic bag up to 12"x6"x12", a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag or a small clutch no larger than 8"x11". The arena is ADA accessible throughout, with escalators and elevators available. Check the official NFR Experience site for the most current entry rules before you go.
LOCATION
The Thomas & Mack Center is located at 4505 South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, NV, near the UNLV campus. It's about a mile east of the Strip and minutes from Harry Reid International Airport. It's accessible from I-15 via the Tropicana Avenue exit and from I-95 via exit 68 heading west on Tropicana. Getting there is straightforward; parking there, less so. This event draws large crowds, and once the main lots fill up, overflow parking opens on a first-come, first-served basis. December is one of the better times to be in Las Vegas as an RVer. Days are mild and sunny, and nights get cold, making it easier to enjoy the area without the summer's desert heat. If you're up for some sightseeing, Red Rock Canyon is about 20 miles west, and Hoover Dam is roughly 30 miles southeast.
RVING AT THE EVENT
RV travel works well for the National Finals Rodeo because Las Vegas has several RV resorts and campgrounds within a short drive of the Thomas & Mack Center. Most RVers stay at a nearby campground, then use rideshare, taxi service, or a smaller vehicle to reach the arena for each performance. This setup gives travelers a comfortable place to regroup between rodeo nights while still keeping them close to NFR events, Cowboy Christmas, restaurants, and Las Vegas attractions.
Where to Camp Near National Finals Rodeo
One of the most convenient places to stay is Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town. With nearly 500 spaces across two parks, it offers 30- and 50-amp full-hookup sites, spacious pull-throughs, two pools with hot tubs, laundry, showers, cable, Wi-Fi, and a communal BBQ area. The KOA is under 8 miles from the Thomas & Mack Center, making it easy rideshare territory for event nights. For a resort-style stay, Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort offers full-hookup RV sites, pull-through options, an adults-only pool, spa facilities, a family pool with a sandy beach area, and an 18-hole putting course. The RV Park at Circus Circus is the only RV park located right on Las Vegas Boulevard. It has 170 big-rig sites with full hookups, 60- to 80-foot pull-throughs, a convenience store, laundry, dog park, and a seasonal pool and hot tub. It's more of a parking lot than a campground, but the location is hard to beat if you want to stay on the Strip.
RV Rental Tips for National Finals Rodeo
Book your RV as early as possible. A Class C motorhome is a strong choice for families or groups. It's comfortable for multiple nights, easy enough to drive, and good if you plan to spend more downtime at the campground. If you're rolling solo or as a couple, a Class B RV keeps things nimble and fits into tighter city sites without drama. All three campgrounds above offer full hookups, so you won't need to worry about bringing a generator. If you're renting, start by browsing RV rentals near Las Vegas. Renting locally can reduce the long drive into Nevada, especially if you are flying in or meeting friends in town. First-time renters should review basic RV driving tips before taking on Las Vegas traffic.
HOW TO GET THERE

WRAP UP
The National Finals Rodeo is a natural fit for an RV rental. It is a full Las Vegas trip built around rodeo, Western culture, and shopping. Renting an RV gives you somewhere to make coffee, store your gear, and step away from the casino-hotel noise when you need a reset. RVshare's camping cuisine ideas are useful if you don’t want to rely on event food for every meal.
10-Day RV Itinerary for National Finals Rodeo
