Cotton Bowl Classic
For many college football fans, the Cotton Bowl Classic is a highlight of the holiday season. This part of the playoffs is an exciting time filled with team rivalries and incredible gameplay. If you want to be as close to the action as possible, renting an RV in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl is a smart move. Not only do you get a comfortable and affordable place to stay, but you also get to enjoy tailgating with all your fellow fans.
ON-SITE AMENITIES
AT&T Stadium is a great place to spend a day or two. It has a dump station for RVs and allows you to have a charcoal or gas grill next to your RV. The stadium has multiple concession stands serving burgers, coffee, ice cream, sandwiches, and more, and many food trucks are parked around the stadium. It also contains several activity centers with cornhole, fantasy football, and televised football games.
LOCATION
The Cotton Bowl is held at AT&T Stadium in the heart of Arlington, Texas. Its location right between Dallas and Fort Worth means that there are a lot of traveling opportunities available. The stadium is just to the south of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, so you can easily fly into the area, pick up your rental RV, and head to the Cotton Bowl. The stadium is right off of Interstate 30, so you're a short drive away from exciting attractions like Six Flags Over Texas, the Dallas Zoo, and the Kimbell Art Museum. If you're in the mood for hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities, Cedar Hill State Park and Trammell Crow Park are also nearby.
RVING AT THE EVENT
The Cotton Bowl is held at AT&T Stadium, which doesn't technically have a campground. However, the stadium does offer overnight RV parking. If you have an RV, you can arrive at 8 a.m. the day before the game and stay until 5 p.m. the day after the game. This allows you to tailgate with ease, and you can also spend a day or two relaxing. Spaces for RV overnight parking do not have hookups, but you are allowed to use generators, and there is a dump station on site.
Where to Camp Near the Cotton Bowl
If you want to camp for a longer period, you'll need to find a campground outside of the AT&T Stadium grounds. There are some beautiful areas nearby, like River Legacy Parks, if you want to experience Texas nature during your trip to the Cotton Bowl Classic. If you would like all the amenities of an RV park, you can also stay at dedicated RV parks such as Dallas/Arlington KOA.
RV Rental Tips for the Cotton Bowl
Make sure to book your RV as early as possible since RV rentals for the Cotton Bowl are in high demand. If you want to park your RV at the Cotton Bowl, keep in mind that most spaces are only 40 feet long. There are a few limited spaces for RVs of more than 43 feet in length, but these are not guaranteed. Therefore, if you want the easiest parking experience, a smaller Class B or Class C motorhome works well. Since the Cotton Bowl parking does not come with water or electrical hookups, make sure to select an RV with a sizable water tank and an on-board generator.
