Every summer since 2006, music fans have gathered in Chicago's Union Park for the Pitchfork Music Festival. This event is a celebration of multiple styles of music from hardcore punk to smooth jazz. Attendees can listen to their favorite artists, be introduced to new sounds and socialize with tens of thousands of like-minded music lovers. There are also shopping kiosks, dining areas and art displays set up during this three-day festival. For 2022, the event will run from September 15-September 17.
The Pitchfork Music Festival has a history of providing multiple food venues for attendees. There have been food vendors that specialize in Polish sausage, pizza, fresh salads or ice cream. The festival is eco-friendly in that it provides recycling bins and compost containers. Festival-goers can reserve lockers to store their valuables and mobile charging packs for their phones. Furthermore, the Pitchfork Festival offers a lost-and-found, first-aid tent, restrooms (including ADA restrooms) and a resource and response center.
