Often referred to as the “Great Minnesota Get-Together,” the Minnesota State Fair is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state, welcoming more than 2 million guests each year. The fair has been occurring annually since 1859 and has become an end-of-summer tradition for families throughout the area. Visitors can enjoy grandstand shows, animal exhibits, live music, rides and games, food, and much more.

Rides and Attractions: From extreme thrill rides to pint-size rides for the youngest visitors, there are a wide variety of rides for all ages. There are plenty of attractions to delight fairgoers of all ages, including the butterfly house that features stunning butterflies flying about, a giant sandbox, a haunted house, a giant slide, and much, much more. You won’t be stranded without any amenities when visiting the State Fair of Minnesota. On-site amenities include ATMs, designated smoking areas, baby changing stations, breastfeeding facilities, wheelchair, scooter, stroller and wagon rental, cell phone charging stations, hand wash stations, food and drink concessions, water fountains, the ability to bring your own outside food and drinks, complimentary sunscreen, lost and found and much more. There are limited spaces for RVing at the Minnesota State Fair and the campground is extremely popular. Sites filled on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on requested dates and camper dimensions after an application is submitted. Online reservations for fair-time camping will go live on Monday, May 28, 2024 at 8 a.m. After that time, you may call the campground office to be added to the waiting list.
Some information to keep in mind about RVing onsite at the Minnesota State Fair:
Daily camping rates are determined by the width of the campsite: $(TBA) for standard, $(TBA) for non-slide units wider than 8 feet and $(TBA) for slide-out campers. Pulled and extra vehicles are $(TBA) a day. Fees do not include admission to the fair.
The campgrounds are unable to accommodate slide-out campers wider than the 14’ site dimensions. For this reason, when filling out the application, exact measurements of your RV are needed. Misrepresentation of camper dimensions will result in the loss of campsite.
All sites have 20 amp service, guaranteed.
There are three shared dump stations, temporary water hookups, restrooms, showers and coin-operated laundry.
12/3 electrical cords between the camper and fair outlet boxes must be used.

To get to the Minnesota State Fair, please follow the directions below.
Coming from the north: Take I-35W south. Merge onto Highway 36 East via Exit 23B on the left. Exit onto Snelling Avenue South.
Coming from the south: Take I-35W north to I-94 East. Exit on Snelling Avenue, then turn left and head north. Or take I-35E north to I-94 west. Exit on Snelling Avenue, then turn right and head north.
Coming from the east: Take I-94 west to Snelling Avenue, then turn right and head north.
Coming from the west: Take I-94 east to Snelling Avenue, then turn left and head north.
Parking at the fairgrounds is available on a first-come, first served basis and overnight parking or daily RV parking is not permitted. Vehicle parking is $(TBA) , and is cash only.
