The Lynden Farmers Day Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. on June 7, 2025. It will last about one hour. Having taken place for more than 100 years, it's one of the longest-running parades in the Northwest. The parade starts at 10th Street and proceeds east to 3rd Street. In previous years, the parade featured tractors, trucks, floats, bands, and livestock as a salute to the agriculture industry in Lynden itself and the wider area of Whatcom County.

ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT

The event website does not list any other activities other than the parade itself. However, businesses in the area might organize their own activities, so check their websites regularly to see what, if anything, they have planned.

ON-SITE AMENITIES

The parade route does not have amenities as it is a public thoroughfare. However, businesses in the area will have restrooms, and there are restaurants and shops to browse.

LOCATION

The parade takes place on Front Street in Lynden, Washington. It's only a couple of miles from the Canadian border with the British Columbia. Point Roberts is just 40 miles away, but it has the distinction of being isolated below the 49th parallel. Unless you have a passport to travel through Canada, the only way to reach Point Roberts is by boat. High school students all have to have passports to attend school because they have to pass through Canada to get there. Both Point Roberts and Lynden are part of Whatcom County.

RVING AT THE EVENT

Given that the event is a parade on a public street and lasts just an hour, no RV accommodations are available at the parade. However, you can select one of the RV parks in the area. The Cedars RV Resort offers full hookups and sites with electrical and water hookups but no sewer. The campground also has a pool, a playground, a store that sells spirits, wine, and beer, a recreation hall, several sports fields, and on-site laundry. Sumas RV Park has 60 sites with different combinations of hookups. For example, campsites 54-60 don't have sewer connections. The campground provides daily, weekly, and monthly options. It also charges extra for electricity. Nor'West Properties maintains an RV park with full hookups, picnic tables, and laundry facilities. The park's rules state that children must be supervised at all times and that they're not allowed to play on their own while within the park. You also must sign a copy of the park rules when checking in, so it's wise to read them first. Renting an RV can be a fabulous new experience if you've never done so before. You get to bring everything with you as you travel, including most of the comforts of home. You also get to bond with your family as you experience "getting there is half the fun." These tips are also terrific for first-time renters or as a refresher for old hands. RVshare's website is comprehensive, so reading through it is a good idea before you start out. June weather in Lynden, Washington, is cool. During the day, it'll seldom creep above 70 F, and at night, it can dip below 50 F. Be sure to bring a water-repelling windbreaker or other jacket, as it rains roughly one out of every four days in Lynden in June. When it does rain, it's a good idea to have extra socks so that you can change them as needed. If the rain is particularly heavy, having a pair of waterproof boots or shoe rubbers is good protection. For sunny days, even though it's cool, it'd still be a good idea to have sunblock, sunglasses, and hats with brims to protect yourself from sunburn. It might seem counterintuitive, but you should also protect yourself on overcast days because clouds don't block the rays that cause sunburn.
