The Texas Renaissance Festival is held at 21778 FM 1774, Todd Mission, TX 77363. It is approximately 55 miles northwest of Houston, Texas. It sits in the Piney Woods region of Southeast Texas and is a large, permanent outdoor festival site. Traffic gets heavy during peak arrival times, especially on FM 1774, so it's best to plan ahead and get there early.

Yes, but only in designated camping areas like Fields of New Market. By setting up your home base just steps away from the festivities, you'll stay connected to the event's magical atmosphere.

Where to Camp Near Texas Renaissance Festival

When it comes to RVing, your best options will depend on your priorities (and preferences). On-site RV camping is available at the Fields of New Market Campground. It sits adjacent to the festival grounds, making it a convenient choice if you'd like to easily walk between your campsite and the festival. To enter the Fields of New Market Campground, you need a camping pass and a festival ticket. The campground allows all primary RV classes on its premises. Whether you're arriving in a Class A, B or C motorhome or a travel trailer, there's a spot for everyone to enjoy. General Camping is their more flexible RV option, as it's an area with no reservations or market sites (first-come, first-served). Keep in mind that General Camping is also largely dispersed, dry-camping, and there aren't any electrical or water hookups in the main camping area. However, there are potable water stations and sewage dump facilities available. If you prefer a more structured experience, you can book reservations for upgraded accommodations, including water and electric hookup sites. These spots are limited, though, so try to book early.

RV Rental Tips for Texas Renaissance Festival

While some campers want to stay close to the festivities to keep the party going well into the night, others are looking for a quieter evening a bit further away from the crowd. If dry-camping isn't your style and you're looking for full RV hookups (or quieter evenings to recharge), there are several nearby campgrounds, including the Knights of the RV Park & Resort. They offer a blend of RV accommodations and family-oriented amenities, including plenty of full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electrical service. Additional options include Old Wagon Trail RV Park and Noble Forest RV Village. Both offer full hookups and are in Plantersville, about 5 miles from the festival grounds.

HOW TO GET THERE

This festival is held in a relatively secluded area northwest of Houston, so there aren't any shuttle services from surrounding big cities. Most visitors drive themselves. Remember to leave extra travel buffer time for RVs due to narrow rural roads. From Houston: Take TX-249 North (Tomball Tollway). From Austin: Take US-290 East toward Brenham, continuing through Hempstead. Then, connect to TX-6 North and follow signs toward FM 1774 and Todd Mission. From Dallas: Take I-45 South towards Houston. Then exit onto TX-105 West near Conroe and head towards Plantersville, eventually turning left onto FM 1774.

The cost of tickets is date-specific, but it generally ranges between $15 and $30 when purchased online in advance. A variety of ticket packages are available, and prices depend on the date of attendance (and special events).

3-Day RV Itinerary for Texas Renaissance Festival

Texas Renaissance Fest lasts over 8 weekends and runs every Saturday and Sunday, plus Thanksgiving Friday, from early October through late November. Here is an example of an itinerary you can use to plan your trip. • Day 1: It's a good idea to arrive early since sites are all first-come, first-served. You'll be guided to a spot based on the length of your RV. While RVs and campers are usually parked close to each other, you'll probably have room to open your slide-outs (but perhaps not your awning). Before packing up, take advantage of the campground amenities. Spend a few hours with a trip back to the festival to catch any shows or entertainment you missed, shop for souvenirs, and enjoy one last meal at the fair. Return to the RV in the early afternoon, pack up your gear, and use the campground dump station if needed before you head home.
