Each year, artists and art enthusiasts flock to the charming resort town of Park City, Utah, for the Kimball Arts Festival. Now in its 56th year, the festival showcases experiential and performance artists who have been selected by a jury of their peers. The Kimball Arts Festival is held each summer on Park City’s historic Main Street. Many attendees take advantage of the wonderful RV parks and resorts in the area to camp with other art enthusiasts from near and far.

The Kimball Arts Festival offers a variety of activities, displays and entertainment for you to enjoy:

• Live music: Two music stages host a variety of musicians each day of the festival.

• Studio on Main: The Kimball Art Center provides visitors with a way to experience all that it offers throughout the year.

• Creation Station: Suitable for all ages, the Creation Station allows visitors to experience the art-making process first-hand.

• Food Truck Alley: Food Truck Alley has a variety of treats from featured culinary artisans.

• Skybox lounge: With VIP access, you can get a bird’s eye view of Main Street and all of the festival’s events.

• Merchandise: Special merchandise available only at the festival is on sale at the corner of Main Street and Heber Avenue.

LOCATION

The Kimball Arts Festival is located on Main Street in the heart of Park City, one of Utah’s most famous mountain resort towns. Historic Main Street is recognized for its culture and charm, and it is home to dozens of shops, restaurants, bars and galleries.

Park City is a mountain town located east of Salt Lake City along Interstate 80. With an elevation of 6,890 feet above sea level, the town typically has mild summers. However, some days can get quite warm. Use these tips to stay cool in your RV on your Park City road trip.

This is a bike-friendly town, so you can easily reach the festival from a variety of parking areas located around town. Numerous e-bike kiosks are located throughout the city, enabling you to get around without a car. In addition, the public transportation system is free.

RVING AT THE EVENT

RVing is not available on festival grounds. However, several popular RV parks are located a short distance away. Consider booking a reservation at one of these:

• Park City RV Resort: Conveniently located in Park City, the Park City RV Resort offers large RV pads that provide gorgeous mountain views. During your stay, you can enjoy electrical hookups as well as access to a dog park, a laundry facility, a private walking trail, a pool and spa, an exercise room and bathrooms with showers.

• Wasatch Mountain State Park: Wasatch Mountain State Park is located just south of Park City and offers full RV hookups. During the summer months, you can enjoy four golf courses as well as trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATV activities. 

Here is what RVers should know: 

• Camping options: RV sites are in high demand during and around the festival dates. Consider booking your reservation well in advance. 

• Facilities and services: When selecting an RV park, pay attention to the availability of hookups for water and electricity and waste disposal services. In addition, consider if bathrooms and showers are available.

• Generator use: If you plan to use a generator while RV camping in or near Park City, research the park’s rules regarding their location, positioning and time of operation.

• Do-it-yourself shade: If you plan to enjoy fresh air and sunshine at your RV site, consider bringing a canopy or other form of shade.

• Quiet time: RV parks and state parks have quiet hours and other rules in their code of conduct. Read through the rules before booking your reservation to prepare for your trip.

WHERE TO STAY

Park City offers a variety of affordable and high-end accommodations. If you prefer not to go RV camping, consider these options:

HOW TO GET THERE

Two airports are in the vicinity. The Salt Lake City International Airport is the largest and offers service from major airlines. Heber Valley Airport is a small, regional airport located closer to Park City. 

You can also reach Park City easily by car: 

From Salt Lake City: Take Interstate 80 east to Park City.

From Cheyenne: Take Interstate 80 west to Park City.

From Twin Falls: Take Interstate 84 west. At the intersection with Interstate 80, follow Interstate 80 east to Park City.

PARKING

Attendees can park for free at Park City Mountain Resort or Park City High School. Shuttle service is available regularly to Main Street.
