Lovewell State Park covers 1,160 acres in northern Kansas and features an extensive shoreline on the Lovewell Reservoir. This reservoir was formed in 1957 when construction on the Lovewell Dam was completed. This reservoir draws water from the Republican River as well as a few creeks. Along with modern amenities, including a marina, an archery range and illuminated fish cleaning stations, the park is also home to a historic schoolhouse that is now used as a church.
