Mother Neff, which is located on the Leon River, has the distinction of being the oldest state park in Texas. There are beautiful prairies, canyons, and forest to explore with all sorts of flora and wildlife. Some campsites have full hookups while others are equipped with water and electricity (and many of them are well-shaded and secluded from other campers).
Unfortunately, campers cannot swim or boat in the Leon River due to river conditions. However, there is excellent fishing to be had. You can also walk up the river trail to go exploring. There are places to eat near the park, and supplies can be purchased in Moody.
“The pull-throughs are very long and even the back-ins are nice and roomy. The HQ and bath/shower rooms are brand new and super clean.” CreativePart, RV Park Reviews
